VASS is a federation of 70 community organisations that support disabled people by helping them identify and fulfil their personal goals and aspirations, find work and participate in their communities.

The majority of people who use our members' services have an intellectual/learning disability and/or experience mental illness.

We believe:

  • That everyone has a contribution to make
  • That everyone is different and so a range of support options must be available to people
  • That we can achieve change through genuine partnerships, which involve disabled people, support service providers and government agencies - as well as whanau, communities and employers - working together.

"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much." Helen Keller

NZ VASS would like to thank the Lottery Grants Board for their support.
