The VASS Peer Mentoring project has been established for the purpose of providing support, guidance and advice to the senior management of member organisations. Any Full financial member of VASS is eligible to apply.

Applications to the Peer Mentoring Project must be targeted and specific. Areas of assistance may include, but are not confined to:

  • Guidance and advice through periods of change
  • Problem solving
  • Restructuring
  • Strategic planning and direction
  • Service delivery advice

How to Apply

  1. If you are interested in applying for peer mentoring, simply fill in the Application form by clicking here. Copies are also available from the VASS Office.
  2. Upon acceptance of your application VASS will attempt to place you with a mentor, who is also from a VASS member organisation.  Every attempt will be made to find a mentor with suitable qualifications and experience in the areas in which you require assistance.   Mentors are not consultants.  They do not take the place of existing professional advisers, and may recommend that you seek professional advice.
  3. You and your mentor will be required to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, which will outline what is to be expected from the mentoring process.
  4. VASS will cover the costs of travel to a maximum of $500, and Mentor’s time for a maximum of 25 hours.
  5. At the completion of the mentoring arrangement the Mentor will provide a report to the applicant, a copy of which will be provided to the VASS Chief Executive Officer.  The applicant will also be required to complete a feedback questionnaire to VASS.
  6. All applications and subsequent mentoring arrangements will be treated in confidence.
