Projects
Tuhana - Facilitating Inclusive Communities
In partnership with SAMS, and with funding from the Lotteries Community Research Fund, this project has involved researching effective practice in community participation services and developing resources and training. Go to the Tuhana website.
Business Enterprise Sustainability Project
We have engaged BERL (Business and Economic Research Ltd) to explore ways to improve the economic sustainability of Business Enterprises. This research has recently been completed and Business Enterprises are working together on a development plan based on its findings. Contact the VASS office for more information about this. Partnerships and Networks
ComVoices
We support ComVoices in partnership with other national organisations, in order to promote the value and role of the community sector and ensure the sector has a powerful and collaborative voice. Download ComVoices' Paper 'Communities Count'
Disability Employment Forum
VASS is an active member of the Disability Employment Forum, a network of disabled peoples organisations, umbrella groups and service providers, who have come together for the purpose of improving the participation of disabled people in our labour market. We are working with government agencies and the Employers' Disability Network on some practical ways to addresss some of the issues. Download the Forum's position paper 'The Way Forward'.
